Tricketts Insurance Brokers, supports this year’s Rossendale Hopsice Youth Enterprise Challenge.

In November, teams of Year 10 students from six Rossendale high schools pledged to pitch their entrepreneurial skills in a bid to raise funds for our partner charity, Rossendale Hospice.

During the three-month challenge Janine Packman, Business Development Manager at Tricketts Insurance, Rawtenstall, will give practical advice to team Alder Grange as they develop their enterprising initiative.  The Youth Enterprise Challenge presents a fantastic opportunity for young people to explore business ideas, to learn about budgeting, time management, report writing and public speaking ~ all important skills for their future careers.

Janine gained a lot from her own Young Enterprise experience; she is keen to encourage young business ‘talent’ and believes it’s best to invest in our local community.

The Alder Grange business project has received a £50 start-up donation from Tricketts and its aim is to raise as much income as possible to benefit local people.  Alison Whittaker-Stewart, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at the Rossendale Hospice said: ‘We rely heavily on funds raised by the public for our survival and last year the Challenge raised more than £8,000 for the Hospice.’

The Enterprise Challenge will climax with a ‘Celebration Event’ on 2 February 2017 when each team will present their business pitches to the Mayor of Rossendale and Business representatives.
