Directors and Officers

Directors and Officers insurance is perfect for the current climate of litigation. Managers are more vulnerable to claims of actual, or alleged, ‘wrongful acts’ whilst carrying out their managerial roles.  A policy of this type is becoming more necessary for managerial personnel working in 21st century business sectors.

Directors and Officers insurance will provide cover for persons working in a managerial or supervisory capacity.  It will protect those who would be personally liable for any act or omission made in relation to the running of the business

D&O provides a reliable, consistent and structured legal defence as well as protecting personal wealth.

Your assets are at risk if you have been accused of breaching your duties; you are personally liable and will need to defend the claim. Your personal assets are potentially at risk if you do not have adequate D&O cover.
Directors Personal Assets
Traditionally, only the directors and officers themselves were covered under a D&O policy. Today this may be expanded to include managers and other non-executive directors, employees and the company itself.

Business Combined
Most policies include an excess. This is the amount you have to pay if you make a claim on your policy. You can often negotiate a cheaper premium if you accept a higher excess. Your excess is stated on your Certificate of Insurance or your Insurance Schedule
